About the Akeman Inn pub and restaurant in Kingswood near Waddesdon and Bicester.jpg

About Us

Named after the ancient Roman road upon which it resides, The Akeman Inn in Kingswood existed as a coaching inn for 200 years, until the mid-19th century. Situated between Bicester and Aylesbury, this substantial building offers a lounge and bar area with a range of comfortable seating options and open fireplace, a modern restaurant with timber beams and an open kitchen, views of open countryside, and ample parking.

From 10am Monday to Friday, and 9am on Saturday and Sunday, we serve a seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired menu based on sustainable, quality ingredients. Traceable from farm to fork, our meat and poultry come from British farms, our eggs are free range, and our fish is responsibly sourced from suppliers approved by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

An extensive range and variety of dishes are made in our open kitchen, which features a charcoal-fuelled Josper grill, while our trained pizzaiolos freshly prepare and cook Neapolitan pizza in our bespoke wood-fired oven.

Sympathetically designed, and with the low timber beams intact, our lounge and bar area provides a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, from coffee brewed with Rainforest Alliance certified ThreeSixty Rainforest Blend, to the finest Dom Pérignon. A range of lighter nibbles such as Halloumi chips, pork belly bites, and Focaccia Al Aglio are served all day.

The Akeman Inn proudly sponsors our local Westcott Cricket Club.

What Our Guests Say

Oakman Inns & Restaurants was founded in 2005. Our vision was to create an environment where like-mined people could come and enjoy some great food and drinks whilst catching up with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues.

We quickly won a place in the hearts and minds of local people through our support of local sports teams and community events. Then we started winning awards too. Today we work hard to replicate this recipe in each and every new pub that we open.
